I am a Senior Lecturer attached to the Department of Mathematics. I graduated from the University of Kelaniya, specialising in the subject of Mathematics and completed postgraduate studies (MSc and PhD) in the area of Pure Mathematics at the University of Ottawa, Canada.

I am the editor of “Updated Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework” published in December 2015 by the Ministry of Higher Education. I have been a member of the UGC Standing Committee on Quality assurance since 2015.

  • Delivered the 30th Annual Dr. CWW Kannangara Memorial Lecture (organized by National Institute of Education) on 14 October 2019 on the topic “Redefining Senior Secondary and Collegiate Curricula for Tomorrow’s World”
  • Delivered the keynote address at the joint convocation of two National Colleges of Education, Siyane and Sariputta in September 2018
  • Delivered the 24th Annual J E Jayasuriya Memorial Lecture (organized by the J E Jayasuriya Memorial Foundation) on 13 February 2014 on the topic “Mathematics Education – Past, Present and Future”
